At the age of 19 At the age of 19, she dropped Here, her first song. It became a smash hit and received praise from critics and listeners alike. It peaked at number 19 on both the Canadian Hot 100 as well as Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the track one of the top Songs of the year. The same year, she released her debut album Know It All with the third song Scars to Your Beautiful being one of the five original songs that peaked at Billboard charts, including The Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. This particular track was special because it was based on an interview with rapper Rap-Up, many of the listeners were inspired by her story in self-doubt as well as learning how to be a better person. Cara's music has been praised for her messages of love, self-love and mental health. Everything stems from her personal experience as she been battling mental health issues and insomnia. In a recent interview with Reuters she said that her album was "half tumultuous" as well as "half perfected". Therapy helped her grow and encourages other people to seek help if necessary. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on the 11th July 1996. Her first guitar was given to her by her parents before she reached the age of 10, and that sparked her love for music. At the age of 13 She began doing covers of songs she enjoyed on YouTube in order to show her fans that she was talented and was able to make the decision to pursue an opportunity as a musician. In fact, one of her songs she covered Sweater Weather is the track that made her the focus of EP Entertainment. They allowed her to write and record her own songs.
